PCTEL is pleased to offer a two-class series focused on the specific in-building coverage testing process required by the Orlando P25 800 MHz Radio System. This event includes both PCTEL® Certified Public Safety Tester training for grid-based testing, and PCTEL’s BDA Commissioning Test training course.
Both courses feature detailed training in the use of PCTEL equipment and general processes for performing tests when using other equipment. The jurisdiction personnel will clarify their expectations and approval process. This class designed specifically for local jurisdiction personnel and companies that provide in-building coverage services for the Orlando P25 800 MHz Radio System, but other companies are also welcome.

Course Descriptions
Class #1 (May 19): PCTEL Certified Public Safety Tester Training and Certification: Code-Compliant In-Building Coverage Testing
Hands-on training in the use of PCTEL’s Public Safety Testing Solution for grid-based in-building testing. You’ll learn how to use SeeHawk® Touch software and PCTEL scanning receiver in concert with the SeeHawk Central automated workflow management platform. Certification is valid for 2 years and recognized by jurisdictions nationwide. You may also opt to be listed on our website as a PCTEL® Certified Public Safety Tester. Up-to-date PCTEL public safety testing kit with P25 technology option and a laptop is required. One kit may be shared by two registered trainees. Limited loaner equipment may be available at some events.
Class #2 (May 20): PCTEL BDA Commissioning Testing Training: Code Compliant Best Practices for BDA RF Testing
This training covers topics related to BDA commissioning tests, with specific attention to the use of PCTEL’s automated BDA commissioning testing solution. You’ll learn how to plan, execute, and submit required results from BDA commissioning tests using SeeHawk Touch software and PCTEL scanning receiver in concert with the SeeHawk Central automated workflow management platform. This training only covers the testing aspect of BDA commissioning. We recommend that anyone commissioning a BDA complete BDA/DAS Training and acquire NICET and/or ETA certification. We do not currently offer certifications specifically related to BDA testing.
